Photogravure Show

The Art of Photogravure
July 9 - Aug 30, 2010

Photogravure, which dates back to the 1830s, is one of the earliest methods of making a permanent photographic print. The process is attributed to both Henry Fox Talbot and Nicephore Niepce. The process produces a very high quality, rich, continuous tone print of a photographic positive.

The Art Of The Gravure Group Show at Gallery 291 includes wonderful examples of both Photogravures and Photopolymer Gravures from leading contemporary Photographers including Unai San Martin, Mark Nelson, Inger Lise Rasmussen, Josephine Sacabo, and Paul Taylor.
